BEFORE YOU SURF

Everything you need to know before you hit the water.

A great surf starts before you ever touch the water. Here's everything you need to know to arrive prepared, make the most of your time on site, and get the most out of every wave.

Arrival

When To Arrive Arrive at least 45 minutes before your session. This gives you time to check in, store your gear, get changed, and complete your pre-surf briefing without feeling rushed.

Running late? Get in touch as soon as possible — late arrivals may result in missed waves or a shortened session.

Check In Head straight to the front desk when you arrive. Have your booking confirmation ready — digital or printed both work. If you haven't completed your waiver online, you'll need to do this on arrival. Another reason to get here early.

What To Bring

  • Swimsuit or boardshorts

  • Rashie or wetsuit if you have one

  • Towel

  • Sunscreen

  • Water bottle

  • Any personal medication you may need

What not to bring into the water: Jewellery, watches, or anything you wouldn't want to lose. Leave valuables secured in a locker on site.

On Site Facilities

Change Rooms & Showers Full change rooms and showers are available on site. Rinse off, get changed, and settle in before or after your session.

Lockers Lockers are available to secure your valuables while you're in the water. We recommend leaving anything important locked away before your session starts.

Retail Need anything before your session? Our on-site retail has you covered — rashies, boardshorts, wax, sunscreen, and DSRT Surf gear available in store.

Before You Paddle Out

Complete Your Waiver All surfers must have a signed waiver before entering the water. Complete yours online before you arrive to save time at check in — or fill it out on site when you get here.

Pre-Surf Briefing Every session begins with a pre-surf briefing. Your coach or session guide will walk you through wave positioning, pool etiquette, safety protocols, and what to expect once you're in the water. This is mandatory for all surfers regardless of experience.

Equipment All equipment is available on site — boards, leg ropes, and safety gear. If you're bringing your own board, check with our team before your session to confirm it's suitable for your session type.

What To Wear

  • Boardshorts or a one-piece swimsuit

  • Rashie recommended — protects from sun and board rash

  • Wetsuit optional depending on conditions and personal preference

  • Helmet provided for sessions where required

Food & Drinks

Fuel up before your session at our on-site café. Whether you're after a coffee before you paddle out or a meal to set yourself up — we've got you covered.

We recommend eating at least 60–90 minutes before your session.
